A prehistoric race of highly evolved reptiles created the monster Kreetayza to alter the planet's climate, should it ever become incompatible with reptile lifeforms. The creature's climate alarm malfunctioned and it overslept when the planet's atmosphere changed drastically, and its creators were wiped out.
