Interplanetary explorers discover an ancient, automated library, on a distant, barren planet. They take as much of the precious knowledge discs as possible and return home with the alien data, under the condition they must return the discs within 100 years. When the space program budget is cut drastically, they can never return. The monster Monderezon is summoned by the library to punish the delinquent borrowers.
