After a devastating emotional breakup, Quervina is so distraught she slips into a hyperspace portal and lands on a barren planetoid. There, she lives far past her normal lifespan, all alone. She lives for so long, her personal timestream stops, then moves backwards, Quervina becomes younger and younger, reverting into a child. She finally makes peace with the only other lifeform on the planetoid, the ancient monster Erghabdon.
