A company invents a highly sophisticated automated music playlist generator that customizes and evolves its music lists based on what it learns from customers' preferences. Soon, the countless generators begins sharing the individual music list data and develops a meta-playlist for the entire population. One list, for every listener. In a few weeks, the music has all been reduced to a long drone sound that has everyone in a catatonic state. When a group of radical musicians try to disable the system, the system forms into a giant monster.
