A heroic cosmic being tries to prevent a supernova from harming nearby planets by absorbing the energy. This works perfectly, but has one side effect: years later, in a cosmic bar, the being has a drink that disagrees with him. This results in him accidentally releasing the energy from his metabolism in the form of a monster.
