As the universe is infinite, so is the possible diversity of lifeforms. Even evolution itself can exist in infinite variations. One of these variations is the Chaos Helix, which produces random, unrelated lifeforms at random intervals depending on unknown galactic algorithms. Scientists believe if they discover that algorithm process, they will understand how the Chaos Helix works. The monster Eruhoki (spawned by the Chaos Helix) happens to attack a science colony that is trying to investigate the process.
