When all of the Spiral Fairies in the Forest Of Hopes are threatened by a great dark storm, they combine their magic to summon the monster Menlul, who protects the Forest with its power. The storm creates energy warriors that battle the monster. One fairy escapes into a hidden glen and finds a secret contraption that can l anything i8n great detail. To make the device work, the Fairy must sacrifice its Spiral Power, slowly getting drawn into the machine. It is learned that the storm is the end of all hope, and it spins in a counter-clockwise direction to destroy the Forest and the Fairies. With its dying prayer, the little Fairy tells the oters to use their Spiral Power to spin clockwise and stop the storm. They try but are not powerful enough. Only by merging with Menlul can they drive the storm away. Later, in another world, a soldier who is fighting for her life on the battlefield, gains new hope in her endless fight.
